AUDI A4 B7 Multitronic Gearbox Good or Bad
Ive just brought a 2007 A4 Cabriolet with the multitronic gear box its my first Auto multitronic. is there anything I need to look out for known issue etcidk about any mechanical issues since i havent had any but my car is just fine with 66k miles on it. the tiptronic (i believe thats the audi term) is fun and fast but also foolproof. if you forget to down shift it will do it for you should also upshift if you redline for too long.

It could be different in some but I have two separate things Sport and Shift it yourself (Tiptronic). PS - I have the 2.0T quattro so I have the real auto transmission not the CVT. Not sure what they put in the V6.

I will try and explain what I am doing. My car has the paddles on the steering wheel the and - next to the D position on the shifter and S (sport mode or whatever audi call it). When I am in D the paddles dont work when I shift to S the paddles work but if I dont touch the paddles (Change gear) in about 10 seconds the car starts changing on its own even in S mode I thought the point was that when S mode was enabled you changed with the paddles unless you redline it and then the car takes over.
